NOW OPEN: Object 59 Online Store
After two years in business Object 59 has a clear and defined path for selling its merchandise. When I set out in to start a golf clothing company I truely thought it would be easier. This was back in 2007, the economy was still good & people were still spending money on clothes. So I thought it would be easy. Easy to design, easy to produce, easy to market, easy to sell. Well suffice to say, nothing has been easy. There has been one thing that has been easy, the acceptance of a new clothing company into the mens apparel marketplace. It seems as though everyone that sees a pair of Object 59 Trousers, wants them. The problem up to this point has been production of enough inventory to satisfy the demand in the marketplace.
One of the primary objectives Object 59 has been to frequently produce a very limited collection that is unique and that people would enjoy wearing. I came up with this objective as the result of being involved with Volcom in the start up phase. Back in 1991 when Volcom first set out they had only a few different designs and made lot of it. The mustard color "Horney Toad Skin walk shorts, "Go Go Pussy-Galore" board shorts, and a few graphic tees. All of the products were so unique and cool. The only problem was that every time I would go somewhere there would be 5 people in the room wearing the exact same clothes as I was.
This always annoyed me and I got me thinking about the prospect of inventing a clothing line that you could accomplish the task of rarely see someone wearing the exact same thing you are wearing. This especially hold true with our unique and funky golf trousers. It's actually funny. Take "Loud Mouth Golf Pants" for example. Their designs are unique, loud and bright. But what's worse than showing up at the golf course and seeing that your buddy is wearing the exact same "Loud Mouth" golf slacks as you.
Back to my point, in August we finally found what we needed. A domestic sewing contractor that was willing to help us acheive the goal of producing a limited collection. By limited collection I mean, only 50 pieces per style will be produced. So the bottom line is get the product while it's hot, because it will be the only time you see it & with only 50 pieces made and sold across the entire united states, the chance of you seeing someone else wearing the same thing you are is slim to none.
